Medicine For Your Mind

Medicine For Your Mind

Philippians 2: 5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 4: 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

II Thessalonians 2:  2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

II Thessalonians 3: 16Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Philemon 1: 3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Job 10: 12You have granted me life and favor, and your visitation has preserved my spirit.

Psalm 119:153Consider my affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget your law.

Luke 24: 36And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, Peace be unto you.

John 14: 27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world

gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

At some point in life, we have all been mentally fatigued, overwhelmed or ill. Normal life situations can sometimes weigh heavily on our minds. It may be children, health, finance, relationships, work or school that has an invisible band that seems to tighten around our minds in times of stress and distress.

The Lord who made us has a remedy for any mental challenge that confronts us. His assurance of peace and well-being are found in His Word. Meditating on the peaceful promises of God does at least two things. One - it wars against the anxious thoughts the enemy tries to plant in our heads. And two - His Word blankets our minds with His comfort and assurance.

When fear and anxiety attempt to disrupt your peace resist those thoughts and feelings with the Word of God. Medicate your mind with the Power and Authority of the Word. Practice preventive maintenance. Saturate your mind and spirit with a good dose of the Word every day. Keeping the Word of God fresh and strong in your life establishes a barrier against the attacks of the enemy. If you are fortified with the Word, it is harder for the wicked one to penetrate that holy shield. Don't make it easy for him to get to you. Resist the devil with right thinking and right living. If we don't think right, we won't live right. The foundation for right thinking comes from the Word of God.
