Psalm 96:10-13

In the final verses of this song our God is recognized as King and Judge. Only those who know Him can accurately declare Him to the world.

Psalms 96:10   Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

God's disciples are charged in verse 10 with speaking forth light in the midst of darkness. We are to announce among those who don't know Him that He reigns, He Is King! II Peter 3:8-14 correlates with verse 10 here. These verses in II Peter describe a renovation of the heavens and the earth. Psalm 96:10 states it as the world being established or securely planted: the renovated world will remain as God designed and situated it.

The final clause of verse 10 agrees with Isaiah 33:22 which says For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.

As King, He reigns and is sovereign. That means He is the supreme ruler. He has absolute, unlimited and unrestricted power and authority. He is also Judge. Since He is also the Lawgiver, He is completely suited and equipped to judge. His judgment is just, it is right and cannot be successfully disputed.

He is the only One who can save us. No one else has the power or the righteousness or the purity required to save us from sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you have not accepted His free gift of salvation, repent of all wrong doing and receive Him as Lord and Savior of your life right now. Tell Him you are sorry for your sins. Ask Him to come into your heart right now. Receive His Holy Spirit to fill your heart and direct your steps.

If you prayed to Him as instructed in the previous paragraph you are on your way to a new life in Him. Read the Bible and Pray. Prayer is easy: just talk with Him and listen to Him everyday. Ask the Lord to direct you to a body of believers with whom you can enjoy good godly fellowship. Your growth and development in the Lord should never end. Keep seeking more of Him. He loves you with an everlasting LOVE!!!

Psalms 96:11   Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

It was mentioned earlier that only those who know Him can accurately declare Him to the world. Because all of nature was created by Him, nature knows Him. All of creation knows and acknowledges Him. All the earth and atmosphere, all the sea and all contained in it express joy and gladness because He alone is God!

Human beings should be the most grateful and the most appreciative of His Kingship and Sovereignty. However, we are the most rebellious, the most disobedient, the most defiant of all His creation. The heavens, the earth and the seas should not be more attentive to His Greatness than we are.

Psalms 96:12   Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
Psalms 96:13   Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Verse 12 continues with the joyful theme of verse 11. The field is happy that our God is on the throne. He reigns supreme! All the plain is filled with gladness and all the trees of the forest freely and gladly acknowledge Him as Lord of all. Every surface of the earth rejoices that He is God! The atmospheric heavens applaud and honor Him!

The final verse indicates that all of natural creation has confidence that our God has absolute power over all. Everything He has ordained for His people and all of His creation will manifest. His plans and purposes will be fully realized in the most magnificent measure. Why does humanity find it so difficult to trust God the way nature trusts Him? Nature doesn't question Him. The stars don't wonder whether they will be able to shine or not. Water doesn't worry that one day it won't be wet anymore. We humans are the only ones who often refuse to recognize that He is without question, absolutely who He says He is. He can and will do everything that He says He will do. Take a cue from the heavens and the earth and meditate on His GREATNESS. Believe His MAGNIFICENCE and share His WONDER with those who don't know Him. He is King and he is Judge! Love Him with all of your being.

Be blessed!
