Wisdom - Conclusion
The first chapter of Proverbs shares with us that Wisdom is real, alive, active, has specific purposes and is necessary for a life well lived.
We don't have to make the same mistakes that the people before us made. So how do we acquire Wisdom?
1. Ask For It
James 1:5 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
This verse indicates that those who ask won't just receive a dribble or a miniscule amount. But God will give a liberal portion of His Wisdom to those who really want it. He is a God of abundance. He is honored when His Wisdom is demonstrated in the earth realm.
2. Saturate Your Life With the Word of God
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Word of God is His Wisdom. It is applicable to every portion of our lives. It is quick or living. It is not just ancient words printed on a page. The Word of God is full of power. He created the universe with His Words! His Word is sharp and specific. It is distinct and pierces all the way through. It is so discerning that it can completely separate the soul (the mind, will and emotions) from the spirit (the eternal part of us that communes most effectively with our Creator). The Word rightly identifies a persons thoughts and motives.
Any entity that possesses all of those attributes and powers is a force that will bless our lives in many ways. There is no disadvantage to permeating our lives with the Word of God. What a weapon against the forces of darkness! What a comfort in times of distress! What a healing in times of illness and ailing!
John 1:1-4, 14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.
The Word was made flesh in Jesus, the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus is a person. The way we get to know a person is to spend time with them and share communication with them. Prayer is one of the ways we get to know Him. When we pray it opens the way for Him to share His Wisdom with us.
4. Spend Time With People Who Love the Lord
John 14:15 - If you love Me, keep My commandments.
John 14:23 - ...If a man love Me, he will keep My words...
Jesus said the proof of love for Him is obeying what He says. It is beneficial to spend quality time with people who love the Lord. Some people say they love Him but don't follow His Word. Jesus said the proof of your love is your obedience to the Words He has spoken. Find people who are living proof of their love for the Father and His Son. Their living witness will help strengthen your walk in the Lord. Then you in turn, can help strengthen others.
The Wisdom of God has no limits. Wisdom can speak anywhere. No place is off limits or beyond Wisdom's understanding. Wisdom is always appropriate. The Lord wants us to have it, use it and live it. God Bless You!
